The Office of Thierry W Despont, Ltd. is a design firm that specializes in luxury residential work, museum projects, hotels and historical restorations. With offices in New York, the firm has a staff of some 40 architects and decorators, and has acquired an outstanding reputation as a foremost design firm with an elite clientele in North America and Europe.
Mr. Despont was Associate Architect for the Centennial Restoration of the Statue of Liberty and has completed the restoration of Clayton, the Frick family mansion in Pittsburgh. Mr. Despont designed the Decorative Arts galleries of the new J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles and in collaboration with Richard Meier, was responsible for the interior design of the museum's sculpture and painting galleries. The office also designed the 50,000 square foot flagship store on Bone Street for Ralph Lauren as well as the renovation of Clardige's Hotel public spaces and Gordon Ramsay at Claridge's Restaurant in London. In the same city, the firm also achieved the restoration of the Dorchester Hotel.
More recently, the office conducted the renovation of the Boca Raton Hotel in Florida, the design of the Harry Winston flagship store in Beverly Hills and has also created several residences in Italy, Switzerland, Great Britain and all across the USA and the Bahamas.
